This is why itachi is my favorite character and i would have done the same I wouldn’t tell sasuke because I don’t like revenge

"was he sick?" lol yea coughing up blood profusely is a clear indication of that. granted you can cough up blood if you have internal bleeding due to trama to the lungs. either way, if anyone sees someone coughing up blood, like how Itachi did, call your local emergency services because good chance they are dying.

It's not the Village fault, all these was plotted by Danzo and the two village elders. Although this Madara obviously somethings have been left out molding this story to his convenience, you can't fully trust Madara.

That's the thing, the leaf is the same as other villages, they're not the bad guys but, not the good ones either

my answer is that itachi should only tell sasuke the truth if he wasn't sick.
so he could talk with sasuke enough to show that destroy the leaf village and kill
thousands of inoccent people is not the right thing to do. not all people on the village
are responsible for what happened. just a handful amount of people are responsible.
once itachi doesn't have that chance cause he's already dead in my opinion would be
much better Sasuke to not know the truth cause now he want to do the wrong thing
and Itachi is not there anymore to tell him that it's wrong.
as we can see on this episode a lie can be a tool to make the right thing
and the truth can be a tool to make the wrong thing.
just like Madara did now telling the truth to Sasuke just to make him want to destroy
the leaf village

The ends don't justify the means, but that goes both ways. Itachi butchered a clan, and I wouldn't forgive him for that, even though it was for the sake of peace

I don't know, Suzy, if you heard : after all it was Itachi's choice, he wasn't been manipulated. In this serie Madara told that other vilages would use this situation to attack the Hidden Leaf (already weak village) - Itachi hated war, so he sactifised his clan in order to save the village.
