Well that' not really true. The Nine Tails can't just take over Naruto due to the seal. For the Nine Tails to take over Naruto has to be enraged first which weakens the seal. Without Hinata's death Naruto would not have become enraged and would've likely been captured and killed.
Realistically in the manga, this was much faster, she basically jumps in, does her speech, and gets one showed by Pain. I believe it is 1 page maybe 2 but it has been a long time since I read it. So because of this when the extended the fight to give her death far more gut-wrenching pain they couldn't save her or have anyone else interfere without diverting too much from the cannon.

Bring ‘justice’ and then someone else who cares for him will try to bring him ‘justice’ and by justice, it means revenge or hatred. The endless cycle of hatred, does it end? Is there a way you don’t do anything because someone causes you to hate them? So yeah, you do still hate him and that’s what he is pointing out. The obvious.
Pain killed so many lovable character but Hinata's death always make me tear up. Like, you can't confess your love and die without knowing if your feeling were reciprocated. u_u
