I mean Kakashi has almost become the hokage lots of times even in part 1, but like jiraiya he didn't really want the job, he's the student of the 4th hokage and the son of the white fang, and became a jonin at a real young age, he might not be the strongest but he's still a great ninja if you cut Naruto and Sasuke out the picture because adding them in anything isn't fair, he's probably the best in the leaf at the moment
So...funny you should say you would be satisfied with this episode as an ending, because technically this IS the end of the Shippuden manga and the rest is some additional chapters that were published (and later animated) to tie things up and lead into Boruto etc. So excited to see your reactions to the movie and remaining episodes :)
Don’t know if you own it yet Suzy, but if you ever want to revisit the entire Naruto Saga one day, but at a somewhat streamlined approach, might I suggest ‘Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM Legacy’ on the PS4 which gathers together all 4 main titles in the ‘Ultimate Ninja STORM’ series. It’s currently available in the PSN Store’s January Sale for £9.59 til January 19th. Maybe you could play it on your gaming channel one day.
I understand not trusting Oruchimaru, because he did fucked up shit out of curiosity, I don't get not trusting Sasuke he usually does what he says he's going to do, minus the fact that he said he'd kill Naruto in part 1 but he didn't and when he said he'd believe Sakura if he killed Karin but instead aimed a chidori at her, nothing Sasuke has done ever surprised me tho considering he was noticeably getting worse
the naruto being the 7th hokage part in end is pretty much the same as the manga, the chapter before the last one ended just like 478 and the final chapter just skipped a few years to a period in which naruto is already the hokage so yeah, they didn't made a big thing out of it in both the manga and the anime although the boruto movie comes with a bonus mini episode called "the day naruto became the hokage" which is kinda cool if you want to take a look at it
