Yes we want to see the itachi arc . But not right now . You should either finish the main story now and then go back . Or u can stagger it. No, i can't imagine Shippuuden ending here, because Team 7 still lives, not captured into Tsukuyomi.
Also i think it would actually be better if it ended, here with them all getting captured by it. At least it would be a normal ending, not a happy ending, and Boruto wouldn't happen - biggest mistake in anime industry.
