I don't agre with you danzo is the main villain
He want to protect the village true but not the people in the village he doesn't care about lives if they don't accept him as a hokage he would kill them all true he want to protect the village but in the first place what is a village he should ask himself is it woods and water and houses or the pealpe who use the houses and the water this is the big difference he want every think under his control he is obsess with power that's why he left the villagr bean destroyed twice first when orochimaru attack danzo help him and when pain attack he didn't help to save lives or battle him+if he care about people that's why he kill the uchiha to him they was outsider but he forgot that they was a part of the village more than that he is the one who creat pain and kill yahiko by helping hanzo

I like Danzo as a character, we're meant to distrust and dislike him but I think he has a really interesting role in the series as somebody who supports the Leaf but is adversarial towards characters like Hiruzen or Tsunade. He adds a lot of drama and confrontation to the politics of the Leaf rather than just having all characters who are obedient and I think that makes for a much better story.
