It's basically representing a lot of us who fail to realize that the things happening in other countries can possibly happen to us at any given point. We often don't sympathize or empathize with those people when they ask for it so if/when it happens to us, who do we ask for sympathy and empathy?
So Naruto trying to get revenge for his loved ones is OK but Pain trying to get revenge for his loved ones is not OK? The only reason that we had a cold war and not world war 3 was the introduction of atomic bombs. Coz using it once left such a bad taste in people's mouths that we had peace. Kind of. Pain is trying to do the same thing. Im not defending Pain. Im trying to explain his point of view. Pain is a great villain not coz he is powerful or anything, its coz he challenges the protagonist's world view and beleif system not just his physical body.
Wait so if vengeance is wrong then that means we should let pain live. like you said if the leader of that village was killed then the people of that village will want There revenge. Since pain is the leader of the hidden rain village if we kill him then the hidden rain village will want there revenge Against the hidden leaf village for killing there leader lord pain. If that happens another war will begin.
