L's only mistake perhaps was assuming that all of the rules written in the Death Note were true. If L had kept Misa and Light detained then it could have kept him safe. He should have tested the rule before releasing Light and Misa. RIP L.

As others have mentioned, when I first watched this episode back in the day, I had to call it quits for a good long while to process all the rage. It was worth the wait though.

I think its weird how everyone hates the series oast this point. I hate death note after episode 9. Misa ruined the show!! Shes so retarded and ruins the Light and L dynamic!
