Light never cared about L. Not even once. He just thought of him as this huge obstacle in his way of becoming the God of the new world. When L called Light a "friend" in a previous episode, all Light could think about was his next move. Moreover, he gave an evil smile when L died; and Laughed at L's grave in the Death Note recap movie. Maybe Light without the Death Note liked L as friend, but definitely not when the Death Note possessed him.
But I mean do you think there was any inner conflict when light got his memories back. He definitely made some fond memories with L when he did not have the death note. And when L fell out of his chair Light caught him pretty quickly, almost instinctively, which is something a friend would do (as there is not enough time to think “I should catch him because it would look good”)
