Although it was a filler arc and not one of my favorites, but I really glad that I did watch it. You will definitely feel more highly of this filler arc in the future; it has a sweet after-taste.... you'll understand when the time comes.

enjoyed this with you very much :) Sora was a good character its great things turned out well for him and he can now live his life freely :) the Nine-Tails just went to Naruto, luckily for Sora he didnt actually have the beast sealed within him just a bit of its chakra so he survived :) and ye Asuma is really cool its great we got to explore his character some more :) unfortunately the main line focuses on Naruto since he is the main protagonist therefore the rest just get pushed aside :P but thats why we have these extra episodes to do the character development for the rest :) the next one is pretty long but its really good you will like that one as well :)

Finally the good stuff starts!

One of the great arc is up nextt., you will see how brutal the akatsuki is.

Suzy of course we know if a caracter will die or not in a filler, obviously no one will die because it's just a FILLER, just to watch for fun not to incorporate in the real story, fillers are just fantasies just like dreams so absolutely not for caracter development.
It's still fun to watch though but there would be no suspens and more things added, back then when fillers came out that was just for waiting the manga paper to go further enough to still be in advance, so instead of having no episode there were fillers that's it.
For your information the end of the episode with shikamaru asuma talking and the akatsuki with the jinchuriki are not fillers this is real :)
