Ahh, Naruto and flashbacks, and fillers. It became a meme, but a lot of people don't understand why is it like this.
So why so many flashbacks?
I will remind you guys that Naruto Shippuden was aired from 2007 and where is Suzy now it was 5 years of airing, not to speak of that OG Naruto was aired from 2002 so 10 years came by, so people who watch this on a week to week basis they need a reminder WTH happened 10 years back, and that's a problem with a lot of shounen anime that was aired like this. Reminder: OG Naruto and NS was aired for 15 years.
Why are there so many fillers?
Like basically every anime Naruto follows the source material it could be either manga or light novel or rarely original script written for that anime. And because Naruto doesn't have seasons it is big junk of episodes that were aired for 15 years, they will catch up with source material. To explain Naruto is weekly Shounen Jump so that means one chapter a week. Every episode adapts at least 2-3 chapter of the manga so naturally, if you do the math it will catch up one day. Fillers are for this instance to make a turn from the main story and wait for manga chapters to release to have source material to adapt from. There are also mostly filler or mostly canon episodes to explain that the episode has some filler and some canon mix into it, so they don't adapt 2-3 chapters per episode but for example, only 1 and the rest is filler.
I know that most of you guys here already know this, but for those who don't here, you have it.

that was a nice filler arc. if that was just flashbacks i would not like.
but there was some different fun stuff added there. so that was fun.
that was cool to relive some of those iconic moments but now with
some different perspectives and some new lighthearted moments.
that was awesome to rewatch those moments
with new cool animations and a different really good editing.
also nice to see Jiaraya-Sensei once again. and Kimimaro too.

that Gaara's Speech is incredibly good. such a well written character,
but there was some different fun stuff added there. so that was fun.
that was cool to relive some of those iconic moments but now with

that Gaara's Speech is incredibly good. such a well written character,
Its an opinion that is truth. Don't hide from it. The war was god damned ruined and it impeded the progress of the main story. As long as you see with clear eyes that the filler is SEPERATE from the war, then you will enjoy it. Because all things considered, it actually is a pretty climatic arc.
Well i meant it slows the progression and the momentum of the major story down considerbly and people make comments like "Oh well we have not seen sasuke for like ever, is he even a main character at this point" or "omg they been fighing these fodder for like ever, lets move onto the next immportant battle already" and then by the time you get to the end your general conclusion of the arc is "well it was slow and dragged out and took for ever for anything to happen i can't believe this all happen in just 2 days" when in reality it moves at a pretty brick pace and there is ALOT of stuff that happens but with huge impact and satisfying payoff.
Like the start of the series, for regular canon watchers only, it only takes roughly around 48 episodes before sasuske shows up but with the inclusion of fillers, its like nearly a 100 episodes of no sasuke lol. It kind of gives you a different perception of the pacing of the story. If you dumb enough to not let it cloud your judgement that is. Some people are though.
I kind of like how Fairy tail and One piece do their fillers alot more. Their like seperate little or large adventures but never intertwined with the canon story so you never feel like its impending your progress. The fillers hold weight just like the canon arcs are enjoyable little side stories. But alas thats why people always claim naruto is taboo with fillers for these obvous reasons of how filler is used in naruto shippuuden. OG naruto wasn't as bad because it was completly seperate. Boruto for example is using the filler more sucessfully so I guess studio periot has learned from their mistakes.
