Roaring Muscles - My Hero Academia Episode 3 Reaction
Comments
As far as Subs vs Dubs go: I always watch things in original language, that and well I have intermediate level understanding of Japanese but anyway, your reactions editions are a perfect way for me to enjoy them again in a different way. Thats always better cuz as many of us know sameness breeds destruction. And finally the dubs these days are waaaaaay better then the 90s cringefests.
First of all, you do you... Its your channel, you watch whatever you wanna watch in whatever manner you see fit.
But if you want a concrete argument to shut down complaints, here is some feedback.
I am saying this as a hardcore Sub person... been watching anime in japanese for a little over 30 years and I do have ALOT of issues with most dubs.
They tend to soft down the language to make it more "child friendly" and there are often translations that give the wrong impression of whats actually being said or sometimes clear cut mistranslations making the story different and so on.
I also find about 90% of english voice actors to sound forced or fake.
These are some of the most common reasons why Sub- people hate Dubs so much.
HOWEVER...
In a "Reaction format" Dubs is generally better as the subs can be very hard to read, Ive been watching Subbed anime for so long that I really only need the subs like half the time but I still have trouble keeping up when I do cuz Im watching a tiny window in an already tiny window. Another plus is that since the reactor pretty much always speaks english it also makes the commentary/anime dialogue more dynamic.
And you have to think of everyone and it is WAY easier for a Sub-person to watch a Dub than the other way around. #Pragmatism
So despite being a hardcore Sub-guy I think Dubs is in 99% of cases the superior choise in this format.
Keep up the good work :D
