Suzy this is actually not a filler. Kishimoto said because the fan demand was so high to reveal Kakashi's face and his manga readers just wanted to know so bad, Kishimoto actually revealed it in a one shot manga chapter. This episode is adapted from that one shot.
Cons and Pros of Kaguya arc:
A. Cons:
1. Exposition dump.
2. The clues were so apparent only for the original audiences (Japanese) that knew more words/symbolisms in the Japanese manga.
3. Too many poetic way of storytelling. The Western fans just need some obvious revealations thrown onto their faces. For examples: Madara was the ultimate vessel, Black Zetsu was some sort of living cursed mark, Kaguya was the real form of the Demonic Statue, etc.
4. Pretty rushed, needs more canonical backstories not fillerish episodes from the Studio.
B. Pros:
1. Bonding moments of Team 7.
2. Obito's redeeming arc.
3. They got the balls to wrap things up while still ended it up open for the next sequel to fill.
4. Highlighted the chakra as a connective power, unlike what Madara and Kaguya been doing.
BTW, you need to atleast watch Boruto until episode 66 (passing torch moment) and the Last movie after episode 479.
