its the toxic manga readers, its kinda like with books and comics, if the adaptation doesnt do things exactly the same way they go insane xD its best to ignore them :) you can see that they really connect all the fillers to the story so they serve as additional substance to the main stuff :) only the specials are their own thing like 26, 101 and 202 in the original, there are a few in Shippuden but the rest is nicely intertwined with the story so its not just some worthless extra shit :) this arc adds great additional depth and makes what comes next a lot better :) its kinda fun seeing how it would be if Naruto pretty much met another Naruto xD
This filler arc is good, so I enjoy reaction to it, but definitely in Shippuden, especially are fillers that are clear trash so the community will tell you when. Otherwise, there are lots of good filler arcs that give a better understanding of what's happening or to some characters. Later in series, there are lots of characters that weren't mentioned before in canon, but in the filler, they were so you will know his character at least little.

The toxicity in these comments is disgusting, let the woman watch what she wants? Also any of you who are complaining about the filler aren't true fans, the fillers develop the characters into what they are in the main arcs, why nobody understands this I will never get. Plus if nothing else the fillers are a much needed comedic break because we ALL know how heart breaking Shippuden is...
suzy please skip this it's not too late! i have been waiting so long for you to get to the next arc im glad you set up the website but ive been missing your naruto content and 90% of your audience wants you to skip this arc please the writing makes no sense it complicates the world and the lore and we all had to suffer through it years ago and now it 's like PTSD having to wait for you to get through it :(
The writing makes perfect sense. And in no way, shape or form does it make the world or lore more complicated. This arc is important, since it introduces us to Sora, whose importance -or rather role- most of us know. And it also serves to improve Asuma's character quite a lot. I honestly don'T get why people don't understand that....

are you implying Sora has any importance outside of this arc? he and all of the events of this arc are literally never once mentioned again and the "unique" thing about him makes no sense in regards to how they explain all that stuff later in the show (being vague on purpose obviously). i will concede that the only positive about this arc is the asuma stuff, sure, but i have watched the entire series multiple times and this arc contributes nothing outside of that
Perhaps I should have worded it better. I will admit that Sora isn't really important per se for future arcs. But considering what he is, it is good supplemental material to make the world of Naruto more engaging and interesting and understandable. And sorry to correct you, but he IS mentioned later in the series and actually even MAKES an appearance...
Making another appearance in more filler material doesn't mean he has importance in the series. Also the role of Sora, his past and being compared to Naruto due to, well literally being another Jinjuuriki (but in a... very stretched and convinient way) is pretty forced to begin with because this whole parallel was already used with Gaara.
The reason Naruto provoked Sora is that Sora was not serious while practicing with the monks and was taking a beating on purpose just so he wouldn't be a nuisance. Therefore, Naruto wanted him to do a proper sparring without fooling around. In a way, Naruto was actually acknowledging Sora........ You really need to catch on these hints. ^^'
There's no way anyone will catch that on their first watch (and anyone that says they do is either a liar or has a lot of false memories). It's way too subtle to catch when you have other things to worry about. You have no idea how good the guy fighting Sora is. "You really need to catch on these hints". Don't be an asshole.
