Did it ever explain why Nagato can't walk? Also Itachi is undead I would think, and still immortal although he freed himself from the reanimation jutsu. So far we've seen reanimated shinobi get sealed or disappear like Sasori and Sai's brother did. We'll have to find out what the future holds.

Nagato appears to be the only exception to the rule regarding his revival, since he is still crippled like when he died, but all other characters are pretty much untouched despite of the injuries they suffered, and even bigger example of this is Sasori who practically had his entire body remade by the resurrection.
Someone tried to reason they get revived in the state they were before they died, but this doesnt make sense either, since Itachi would be heavily weakened and pretty much blind.
Another theory was that they are revived at their peak, but again, doesnt make sense since Nagato cant even move on his own and Chiyo was likely stronger when she was younger.
So yeah, the whole resurrection thing appears to just be all over the place.

You could look at it this way, with the samples that kabuto got, he can only revive people in relation to the sample he got. Lets say the 'dancer' in the future (not spoiling who), he was really old when he died but kabuto revived him in his prime body. Re-animation is not like Rinne-rebirth. Its a project that can be worked on.
