Whoa Suzy, I think you're totally misreading Sakura's intentions there. Taking into consideration what Sai told Sakura what lengths Naruto will go for her and it's not okay, Sakura only did what she thought was the only way remove Naruto from the battlefield. You suggested that she should just be honest with Naruto but let's be honest, that route wouldn't have worked on Naruto. Naruto needs a bigger motivator to change his hard headed ways.

Despite her intentions the method utilized should absolutely be considered. Using that lie and thinking that it would work shows that she thinks Naruto is a complete imbecile. Also by going about things that way she is trying to be manipulative of Naruto, which is not something someone who is earnestly trying to love another person would do, so it shows that she is not really fully committed to following thru with this route she has chosen.
Sakura has no right to make the call of removing him from the battlefield, as his friend she should have trusted in Naruto and told him the truth. Nature has matured and she shpuld not lie and manipulate him like that, especially romantically. It was complete luck that Kakashi showed up in time, Sakura's multiple decisons here led to her almost being killed by Sasuke. It is true that it was not mockery, but she kind of did embarrass the both of them by making a scene like that. Good intentions aside, she hurt her friends here and made huge mistakes.
Naruto has greatly matured by this point and Sakura should have trusted him instead of hiding the truth from him, even Kiba said this out loud to her. I understand her her good intent, but she manipulated Naruto in that moment, it was wrong of her. The leaf is not strong enough to capture/kill Sasuke without Naruto either, so it was a poor decision to try to exclude him from the fight. Sakura had her own plan but she incorrectly assumed there was a chance she could trick Sasuke and almost got herself killed if Kakashi had not shown up. It's not ok to go against your comrades like that, first with Naruto and then with using sleeping gas on the others.
