I mean, you gotta take in mind exactly that, why she did it, just think about her current situation, the person you loves has become monster, your friend who is in love with you is in constant suffering due to that person and the promise he made to you.
Then you have Sai putting a lot of blame on you for that, in a really insensitive way (granted he isnt very good with that kind of stuff, but still)
Now you are filled with guilt for whats happening to your friend, confused on what to do about the person you love, and ultimately you are consumed by desperation.
You resort to a desperate move to make your friend give up on the person you love as well to convince yourself to do the same, to stop his suffering caused by him and you.
This is basically a person thats really desperate, and doesnt know what to do.
Just like everyone i agree that what she did was wrong, but i can understand why she did it, and that there wasnt a malicious intend on it.

No one ignores the reason. We know it was a stupid reason and that it had no merit. The way Sakura went about this was selfish and uncalled for. Especially if you know what she was going to do if her plan was successful. She wouldn't be pretending to love Naruto and going on pity dates I'll tell you that.
Not exactly, she did had a reason for it, mainly making Naruto and herself gave up on Sasuke, mainly so Naruto wouldnt continue suffering because of both of them, in her case she probably was trying to convince herself that she could love Naruto and give up on Sasuke, the idea likely came up after what Sai said to her, about how Naruto loves her, she most likely already knew, but that was the time she actually took it seriously, combine that with how Naruto is also trying to keep the promise he made to her, it just makes her feel terrible, so yeah, she decided to convince herself that she could love Naruto, while also trying to free him from the burden of the promise and gave up on Sasuke which lets be real, is a freaking monster right now who is only hurting them.
Im not saying that what she did was right, but it had a reason and it wasnt with malicious intent, it was just a wrong move from a really desperate person.
