You were getting it mixed up a bit. The white fang went against the rules and Kakashi started going with the rules because of the shame his father had from going against them. So in a way yes he was acting that way because of the white fang but in essence it was a different path. This was the catalyst that drove him to following his fathers path instead in the end.

Dear Suzy❤️..you get it all wrong about Kakashi's Father Sakumo Hatake..Kakashi wasn't following his father footsteps at all !!..Sakumo actually put his village top secret mission on hold to save his comrades..He abandoned the mission to save his comrades !!..Because of that decision everyone blamed him..even those comrades blamed Sakumo whom he had saved..thus it took it's toll on him and he took his own life?..Thus Kakashi developed the mindset that Rules and Regulations and mission are everything..above all..these are his first priorities..because he fear if he doesn't follow rules and regulations he would have reached the same fate as of his father..Plus yes !!..It was Sakumo Hatake's(Kakashi's Father) white light blade which get shattered to pieces ?️..

kakashi's father made a difficult choice. but he chose his friends instead of the mission.
he was such a hero.
the members of kakashi's team are so good characters.
Minato,Obito and Rin. such amazing charismatic unforgetable characters.

Kakashi's dad chose his friends over the mission, which lead to all the bad things after. So kakashi, was trying to avoid that decision not follow it.

in the original naruto, very beginning, the bell test - Kakashi vs naruto,sasuke,sakura. He said that line after the whole lunch box and teamwork lesson and passed them.

You may not have realized but last episode Their teacher told Kakashi not to use Chidori because "he couldn't see his enemy's movement" the only reason he can use it now is because get got that Sharingan.

This arc (very small) was used as a transition between Naruto and the Shippuden in the manga. Naruto was young and went to train with Jiyraya for 3 years, it cut away as they left, ran this, then it came back after where Suppuden started

Also it isn't a spoiler since it's been broken down by this point but:
3rd Hokage trained Jiraya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru
Jiraya trained Minato (4th Hokage), and some others (I forget who)
Minato (4th Hokage) trained Kakashi, Obito and Rin
Kakashi trained Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura
I wonder if Naruto will train the 3rd Hokage's kid making it come full circle (no spoilers plz)
Jiraya, Obito and Naruto were tied to the tree trunk in that bell training, imo.

Kakashi's Sensei is in facts the Fourth Hokage and his name is Minato Namikaze

Remember when Kakashi scolded Sasuke about trying to kill Naruto, there was a line that Kakashi told Sasuke when he threaten to kill everybody Kakashi cared about. Kakashi said everybody important to him has already died.

yes their sensei was the 4th hokage. during the time of this flashback though, he was still just a jonin and the 3rd hokage was running the village.

Don't worry Suzy we will get more story on kakashi later on.
