Technically Lee and Garra didn't kill Kimimaro, while it is true they battled; Kimimaro was passed away due to an illness and its this illness that made Kimimaro so sad I even saw him shed a tear as his dream to be Orochimaru's vessel was gone. Which is messed up I agree, but considering Gueren and Kimimaro both wished to be vessels, it seemed that's all they could think about for their purpose in life. In Guren's case, she changed when she met Yukimaru though.

As for your top five characters you mentioned earlier from Original Naruto, its only from the canon Naruto and not the fillers right, since I haven't heard any news you saw any of the fillers after the events of Naruto and Sakura at one of Orochimaru's hideouts?
