I'm Home - Attack On Titan S2 Episode 2 Reaction

This is my first time hearing this episode dubbed, but I don't like how they translated it, from what I'm hearing here anyway.

Sasha was very much censoring herself in that flashback. It's not that she's quiet, she's afraid of speaking outwardly and letting her village accent slip, so she chose to keep quiet or talk in a way that hides her accent, which is what Ymir had a problem with. It wasn't to bully her, it was to make her see that there wasn't anything wrong with the way she spoke, she just portrayed it in a hardass way. It wasn't about being polite. It was about hiding her accent. Being true to yourself, which is a theme that WILL pop up again, so be ready for that.

This is what happened when Sasha screamed for the girl to run. It wasn't just the scream that woke her up, it was the accent, her being from the same village as Sasha that did it. Up to that point, she was hiding her accent and the girl never responded to it, until Sasha freed herself up. The girl responded to the real Sasha.
