I'm surprised Shikimaru asked her to a date here, when I remember them having awkward interactions. Interesting also, that of all the people he could of been with, Temari was the one to sit with him when watching over the Chuunin exams.
AND, Ino and Sai, remember that his first interaction with Ino was to say 'Hello beautiful'?
Actually i have questions as Sai is not his real name, yet moving forward he continues to use that name. Just like Yamato uses his. Now, we know Yamato knows his other name but does Sai remember his real name?

awesome how Naruto ended up helping Shikamaru to beat the Darkness
on his heart. such awesome friendship between Naruto and Shikamaru.
Sasuke arc showed how Sasuke evolved since the end of the War
and this Shikamaru arc also is showing how Shikamaru was feeling
and now showing he evolving after this mission. such good arcs.
