I've seen multiple personalities in a show called Total Drama Island where one can switch personalities and have a different name while they are awake, therefore its unlikely a different personality switches when you go to sleep.

Zenitsu is sleep fighter but he is OP

No clue if she will see this or even consider it, but fingers crossed. Suzy would you consider watching episode 19 in the subbed version? I know you prefer dub, I do too most of the time, but sadly episode 19 has received a lot of criticism for translation and transcription errors. That particular episode is very significant but things got messed up when they translated it. I've watched both versions (sub and dub) for ep 19 and it's drastically better subbed. I hope you see this and will consider it. Not a sub vs dub war thing, it's purely for the sake of understanding the episode the way it was intended to be shown.

You might recognize the voice of the guy with the boar head since Bryce Papenbrook voices him and Kirito. Kinda funny that both characters dual wield.

Now you know how Zenitsu passed final selection. He can literally kill demons in his sleep. He has super human levels of hearing, but somehow that demon got close to him before he noticed. My guess is he couldn't hear him over his own screaming.

Surprised you didn't notice that the voice actor that voices the guy with the boar mask is the same VA for Kirito

he doesn't have split personality, his body just moves on its own after he passes out.

It’s understandable why you might think zenitsu has split personalities, but that’s not the case. It’s just when he sleeps he’s unconscious with no emotions including fear, so so when he sleeps he’s not afraid of the demons and can fight back (he is strong conscious or unconscious, it’s just a mental fight for him).

With the boar guy, he is a demon slayer (he has demon slayer swords). If you remember during the final selection the two children stated 5 people passed, but one of them left early (which is the boat guy, it wasn’t really explained in the anime, you had to connect the dots). Again it’s understandable to be confused about the two best bois.

Fun fact zenitsu is physically strong he juts has a lot of fear which normal because there are literally demons every but we still don’t know how the sleep thing works but we do know when zen is in that mode he thinks he’s dreaming so he’s not scared
